    Here is your final answer:
Salt water will not harm gold, however, being in the water for a while makes your fingers shrink and as you and partner play or grab hands in the water the rings will slip off.
Check them in at the Hotel/Resort safe before going to the beach. . .besides you are going to get more looks and attention not wearing them.
I found a beautiful 22ct gold earring on the beach in Phuket Thailand and gave it to a lovely Philippina friend who was with me. . .for the rest of our stay we never took our eyes off the sand again while walking the beach looking for more.

I’m the kind of person that would be worried by some freak accident the water would pull my rings off my fingers instead of if it’ll hurt them. I would just be safe and put them off somewhere SAFE that you can go back to and get them. That way you wouldn’t have to worry about the ocean eating them, whether it be the salt water or the current being strong and ripping them off.

It could happen. Don’t even bring them. Get an inexpensive wedding set – like from QVC or one of the other shopping channels. Don’t risk losing the real thing.
