Will My Engagement Ring Match The Wedding Band?

Written by Admin on April 13, 2010

I impact a noise comely game occurrence anulus with a platinum band. Platinum, however, is outrageously expensive. My content has already spent a ton on the occurrence anulus and I would dislike for a ton to be shelled conceive on start bands as well. Would it be doable to foregather impart a albescent antimonial start band, or would it not match?

You can get a white gold band, they’ll look almost exactly the same. But after a while depending on your skins acidity the white gold will start to turn a bit yellow, so they’ll just have to rhodium plate it. Though it’s NOT good to wear platinum against any other metal. If you’re going to chose two different metals, make SURE you solder them together. Then the platinum won’t ware on the gold. I used to work in a jewelery store and we would always make sure the women knew that the gold will ware away quite fast unless you have them soldered together. So make sure you solder them.

You will hardly be able to notice a difference. There will be a slight difference in the patina of the metal (the shine) but only if you like stare at them together. After a few years though, the white gold may start to yellow and then you will definitely notice the difference.
You can always get it recoated in white gold though, or you can even get it coated in platinum, which is a lot less expensive than a solid platinum ring.
    Good Luck!

My engagement ring is Platinum and my wedding band is white gold and nobody can even tell the difference. And honestly, had I not suggested it and picked it out myself I don;t even think I would know the difference. The only thing I suggest is that you clean (re-dip) the white gold band often because white gold has a tendency to turn a little yellow and that would be the only time when you can tell the difference in the 2 metals. Otherwise you should be fine.

Go to jewelry stores and try on white gold with platinum. I have a platinum engagement ring and I didn’t like the way white gold looked with the platinum, but that is up to you. You can always do a payment plan with a jeweler in order to afford it, or you could by the white gold and upgrade later when you have the money.

Stick with platinum. Just get a plain thin band. Don’t mix metals.http://www.zales.com/product/index.jsp?p…http://www.overstock.com/Jewelry-Watches…http://www.ross-simons.com/products/0515…http://www.seaofdiamonds.com/item.asp?in…http://www.mondera.com/jewelry/product.a…

As plantinium is such a hard metal it will wear anything other than plantinum away as they rub next to each other on your finger. They same applies for carats of gold, 9 carat gold will wear away a softer 18 carat gold ring for example.
