No, but I would worry that in the future YOU would feel resentful.
Let him choose what he can afford himself. You can always buy yourself some other type of bling.

You should really let him pay for it, or at least start paying for it. Have him put in on lay-a-way and start making the payments, nothing says you can’t add to it to get it out sooner, if you’re desperate!

Personally I would not feel like a “man” if she paid, or asked me to marry her… that’s just me. You should ask him and see if he is bothered by that. One of mans biggest pet peeves with women is when women use secret codes and crap, just straight up ask him.

I think it just depends on your guy. I”m getting married in September and I just bought mine and my fiance’s wedding rings with my tax return because I got more money back than he did. He didn’t have a problem with it at all. We picked them out together. So talk to him about it and see what he says.

You can ask your guy how he feels about it.
I paid for half of my engagement ring (although he paid me back later on) and I went on to pay for the wedding, honeymoon and our wedding bands. I work full-time and he’s still a grad student so it’s not like he could have contributed much. I didn’t mind it and neither did he.

Well i am not a man…but…
One of my friends recently got married, and she makes a TON more money then her husband. She pretty much paid for everything, except for the engagement ring. She paid for the bands, a good chunk of the wedding (her parents helped) and she paid for the honey moon. He wanted to get the ring for her…so it was his gift to her. I think he might want to buy the ring for you for that reason, but this is something you really need to talk to him about, because i could see how it might make a guy feel a bit inadequate if ya know what i mean.

When me and my husband got married we were not able to buy nice wedding rings so my mom gave me hers(she never used it). My husband was always bothered by it because he wanted to buy it for me. And for our first year anniversary he bought me an anniversary ring that looks just like an engagement ring/wedding ring combo. Now I wear that one for my wedding ring.
For him it was a big deal to buy me a nice ring.
