I don’t wear any rings at work because I like having fingers. Unless you’re working a 100% desk job it’s impractical to wear a ring. If I have to take my ring off every time I want to head out onto the floor I’d lose it. You (as a man) wouldn’t wear a ring under those circumstances (I hope), so why would you expect a woman to?

First of all, I don’t think work is the most appropriate dating venue. In that case, it really shouldn’t matter whether they are married or not!
Not every woman wants to wear her ring all the time. It could be for safety’s sake, because her hands swell, or because she doesn’t need a ring on her finger to “show” she’s married. I don’t wear my ring every day because I am always wearing latex gloves and in no way would I want to have my ring snagged to pierce a hole in the glove since I handle drug tests usually done with urine.

I’m sure it’s not some deliberate nasty attempt to trick you in to thinking they’re single. I actually lost my wedding ring down a drain at work recently and ever since then I have worn it on a chain around my neck., not as obvious but I willingly tell anybody who asks me how happily I am married to my wonderful fella.

I dont wear my ring to work because its one of the places id most likely to loose it, some girls will not ask you out no matter how interested they are, its basically the mans job. Id say find some way of communicating with her in normal conversation and ask if she is married, if not then ask her out next time you see her.
you dont ask you will never know

Perhaps you need to think about getting to know someone a lot better than simply noticing whether or not they’re wearing a wedding ring before you ask them out. Get to know women as friends first. Once you get to know them as friends, you will be able to find out if they are married or not.

I guess there are no rules at your workplace about inter-office dating? I would be careful if I were you…
And some women (like nurses, doctors, chefs, machinists, etc) are encouraged not to wear rings or any type of jewelry on the job due to sfaety or sanitary concerns.

Well I agree with the first poster but I have to ask, wha sort of work do you do? My fiance won’t be able to wear his wedding band at work. He’s a chef and is not allowed to due to health and safety regulations. Maybe they have reasons similar?
