It’s common from Eastern Europe. We are in Canada, but are Ukrainian, and wear our rings on the right hand.

At the coronation of a British monarch, the Coronation ring is placed on the fourtth finger of the right hand (the ring finger) as a symbol of the sovereign’s marriage to the state. This is a long standing tradition and I remember reading that there was a belief in former times that a vein went from this finger to the heart. Perhaps this is at the root of the northern European tradition whereby the wedding ring is worn on the right hand rather than the left. It is prevalent in Scandinavia and other Lutheran countries.
In Holland Protestants wear their wedding rings on their right hands and Catholics on their left, but during the engagement period the affianced person will wear the same ring on the opposite hand. I’ve never been sure about how this works, as the fingers on one’s dominant hand tend to be bigger than the fingers on the other hand.

not too sure why germans have on the right but as previously mentioned i heard that some have it on the right as this hand known as clean and rightous hmm but yet some have the left following ancient times and being the hand closest to the heart, mines left but wished it was right, i think it would be better personally.

A lot of people from other countries wear their ring on their right hand because the left hand is considered unclean. Before there was toilet paper people used to wipe themselves with their left hands. Therefore its considered unacceptable to soil the sacred symbol.

I always thought that the third finger of the right hand was correct.

A Wedding ring is worn on the Left hand. Wearing a ring on the right hand signifies that the person is gay.
