18 has the most gold, but it is also the softest. A ring will bend out of shape easier depending on how thick the band is. I would go with 10 or 14 for rings or charms and 18 for necklaces.

If by quality you mean purity, then 18kt gold is more pure than 14kt, which is more pure than 10kt. Just remember that the purer the gold, the easier it will bend if its damaged.

18k has most gold in it, but it is a bit softer more bendable. I prefer 18k in Europe its mostly 18k. Its also the most expensive.

10k will bend easily 14k is vgood for it has the right consistency 18k will break easily for it is pure gold. Starmake is absolutely right.

18k is the purest of the three, but it is also going to be the softest. This means it will scratch and dent easier then the other too. Depending on the piece of jewelry this might not matter that much, but on something like a ring it might.
