You can buy them separately.
I have an antique ring from my fiance’s family. For my fiance’s ring, we went to an antique store and bought him a ring that was of a similar era. They don’t really “match” but they look good together.
But you don’t even have to make them look good together. I know plenty of people whose rings don’t match at all. My friend has a yellow gold wedding ring and her husband’s is made out of like tungsten or titanium or something. Ironically, her engagement ring was made of titanium, so her engagement ring and his wedding ring go well together, but she doesn’t wear her engagement ring anymore now that she wears her wedding ring.

they do not have to match. it would be appropriate to have them both in the same material ie: both yellow gold or both white gold – whatever you choose.
my hubbie’s wedding band is a gold nugget style band while mine is a plain gold band with our birthstones set into it. they are both yellow gold and thats the only thing about them that ‘matches’.
all you have to do is find a wedding band he loves and a wedding band you love and thats it! if they happen to match thats fine if not thats fine too.

this is such a personal Choice that you and your partner not anyone else should talk about. a few questions you should ask your self is do i want the same ring as my husband to be or do i want a ring just for myself one that might matches my other rings remember its a wedding ring, a ring to represent your ever binding love,would you care if it was a peice of twine if thats all he could offer, or is his love and devoation all that matters?

my fiance and i are getting ours together but they arent going to match each others. his will be what he wants and mine will be whatever i can get to match my engagement ring. you could get them separately then its more of a surprise when you get it but if you both know what you want already just go together that way each of you likes what you get. =)

The woman’s wedding ring should coordinate with her engagement ring b/c they will be worn on the same finger together after the wedding. So they can either be bought together as a set or a different ring that works well with the engagement ring can be bought seperate. The man’s ring can be whatever he likes. It doesn’t need to match her ring.

The woman’s rings should match but the man’s ring can be whatever you want. Generally you stick to the same type of material for all the rings ex. yellow gold, white gold, platinum, etc.

eventually you’ll have the engagement ring and wedding band fused together and it would look weird if they didn’t match… especially if she’s an attention getter and likes to show off her ring.

Buy them as a set to save money, especially the engagement ring and wedding ring if possible (called a bridal set).
