My husband has a 14kt white gold band. It is the “comfort fit” which means they round the edges. Your jeweler can easily show you the difference. I would definitely recommend the comfort fit. My husband has very large hands so his is something like 10mm wide and a size 12.5. That is a pretty large band though even as men’s rings go. Just as when purchasing for yourself you need to take the size and shape of his hand into consideration. The band was about $450, but this was when gold was at its all time highest price/ounce. We then had it carved with three roses and a diamond from my grandmother’s band was set into the center of each. That cost another $450. We purchased it from a local jeweler. They are not a chain and have a good reputation for selling and making high quality pieces.
The choice of metal depends a bit on personal preference, but you really can’t go wrong with gold. Gold has been the standard. Platinum is being marketed heavily, but I think that is partly because platinum is at least twice the price. Titanium is also the newest rage, but it might become a bad fad in a few years. Many places are now charging as much for titanium rings as for the gold ones, so it isn’t even a savings anymore. Talk with your husband about his preferences, but I don’t think you can go wrong with a 14 kt gold band. If he wears any other gold (necklace, etc) just match it. A classic gold band will always look classy and timeless.

He picked his out, like picked mine, then we paid for each others. It was just over $100, Tungsten.

I think your FI’s preferences are important here. Personally, I like the idea of a titanium band.
I would go, both of you, to where he bought the engagement ring and talk with them. Try some bands on and go from there.

Around 400, 10K yellow gold wide band. Yellow gold wears well for men, and 10K is the sturdiest. White gold and platinum are current fads.

My fiance wants a Titanium one because it will take a lot of bumps and scratches at his job.
Platinum is the best, if he works in an office or similar.
Tungsten is the hardest material, but cannot be engraved, re-sized, or cut in an emergency.

I got my husbands wedding band from eweddingbands.com. It is a white gold ring, 8mm wide with engraving and a texture on the top. It came out great and I paid about $500 for it. I love the way it looks on him and the ring itself is georgeous.

Not sure how wide his band is. I let him pick it out because he was going to be the one wearing it. It’s a 2-tone gold/white gold ring with engraving on it. We got it from Jarred’s after looking at 5 or 6 different jewelry stores. I think it only cost a few hundred but not sure on that.
I’ve heard you can get some nice rings from Sam’s Club or Costco but have no actual experience there so can’t say for sure. It doesn’t hurt to look around.
It also depends if he’s planning on wearing it all the time or not. My dad never wears his wedding ring, or any ring for that matter, because of his job.

You should research palladium rings. My fiance and I are also looking at wedding bands now, and we’ve decided to go the palladium route (for him). Palladium is stronger than platinum and has more lustre than platinum, but the price of gold. It’s not so tough however, that you cannot cut it off of your finger if you need to (like titanium). I can’t imagine what could be better?

My husband and I got matching Tungsten bands and we LOVE them. I think the both of them costed us just under $500. They are virtually scratch resistant and very heavy. (We have ours engraved on the inside. ) I was told it’s the hardest metal to cut through, so careful not to jam a finger. If you like something simple, I would go with either Tungsten or Titanium. I think they look the best on a man’s finger, especially a fine lookin’ man (like my hubby)!!!

For me that I don’t really wear jewlery it was about looks, something that I can live with wearing everyday, I tryied everything from platium to stainless. I ended up with a custom made band by a local jewler made out of stainless. is abit heavier that other metal but i like the finishing touches it was about 1/4 of and inch wide.two texture finishes in the middle with unity signs which is a circle with a line in the middle it represent two becoming one. I sugest taking the groom along whenever picking a band.
