The two alloys that people have allergic reactions two are nickel and chromium. We’d get guys at work breaking out in body-wide rashes. Both are in stainless steel, surgical steel, white gold. There is nickel in 9 K gold and some 14 K gold. Nickel is sometimes used in tungsten.
Platiunum would be a good choice. If you want to be absolutely certain, buy a titanium ring. I have one that looks awesome. Buy it at a good jewellery and make sure it says 100% pure.
Your finance should get skin patch testing for nickel and chromium and aluminum from a dermatologist. Chromium is used sometimes to tan leather.
