Written by Admin on December 11, 2010I Have both a 6 prong arms game occurrence anulus and a 1 ct. 5 cover vocalist conspicuousness start band. My travail is, the diamonds on the start adornment are printmaking into the prongs on the occurrence anulus and I don’t impoverishment to sagging the stone. I impact been labour into tiny .5 ct cosmos bands to go in between the member and distant them and it completeness perfectly.
I formation noise clear the money on additional platinum anulus and was wondering if it was ok to coiffe a albescent antimonial adornment in between the two.
I’m not worried most selection change, but I was told the platinum would coiffe downbound the albescent antimonial and that they shouldn’t be attrited inbound to apiece other…

While the white gold will wear away over time, it is perfectly fine to wear it in between the two rings without causing damage. Ultimately you are going to wear away the “rhodium” plating which is what gives the white gold the white look. You shouldn’t risk damaging your metal to the degree that you would lose a stone. If you do lose a stone it would be more because of the friction against the diamonds on the middle band from your outer two bands. The reality is that Platinum is the strongest most secure metal to have diamonds set in. That being said if they are small stones you will probably be fine.

It sounds like it’s likely for the platinum to wear down the white gold. I would buy a cheaper small plain silver ring to wear inbetween, so that if it wears down it’s not too expensive to replace and you won’t be so upset about it. You’re better off wearing down a few cheap silver rings than losing the stones on your precious rings!
