Written by Admin on December 11, 2010

I bought a Pandora bidding of a collection on Ebay that looked aforementioned an trusty vender (99.9% shaping feedback, sound seemed precise ect.) But it foregather doesn’t seem aforementioned it was advertised.. And I am trusty it is an trusty member because on the bottom of the bidding it says ALE 925.
It looks as though the charm’s greyness is achievement off? There is discolouration on the charm. I can’t noise maintain it, but here are some pictures, nurturant they are not the best calibre but I inner had a inexpensive camera to avow them:http://s367.photobucket.com/albums/oo114…http://s367.photobucket.com/albums/oo114…http://s367.photobucket.com/albums/oo114…
What is this discolouration? IS it normal? Can I impart disembarrass of it? If so do crapper I do it myself?
Thankyou and Merry Christmas! :]

that isn’t solid sterling silver if the silver flakes off, it is silver plate. There is a coating of silver over lead or another base metal.
    The hallmark isn’t always right.
you can try polishing it at home with a paste of baking soda. If it doesn’t clean up send it back.

    Merry Christmas to you too!
And sad to say this but, I own all types of silver jewelry and only the fake silver necklace had discoloration issues over time.
Two possible dilemmas I can think of are:
    1. Your jewelry is old and needs to get buffed.
    2. Your jewelry isn’t real silver.
Also, please note that real silver is required by law to have the number “925″ stamped on the back… So, if it says that and is changing colors you should get your money back…

hmm.. ive had a silver bracelet for sometime now (3-5 years?) and it doesnt look anything like that, still shiny and in great condition.
My parents own a jewellery store so ive seen alot of damaged goods being repaired / stock etc etc
And I havn’t seen anything like that ( Although we deal in mostly gold ), was it spray painted maybe? what did the ebay explanation say about the product? Or maybe you accidently got it in some sort of substance without knowing?.. but if that was the case why only the inside soo much?
Sorry I cant really say much but the best thing to do if your concerned is to drop by any jewellery store and let them check it out.
    Sorry
