but i would not recomend it
real gold is very soft
that is why it is hardened with nickel.
talk to a jeweler and explain what you want.
you did not specify if the gold you wanted to cover was pure or an alloy.

YEs, they do it all the time, go to a jewlery store and ask them depending on how much it will take it is $200.
