Magnets, are not just choking hazards, are harmful/deadly if swallowed. There was just a toy that was recalled due to deaths.
Plus I never understood why infant jewelry, barrettes, etc are not considered choking hazards. Using the same regulations as toys, most would be.

I don’t think it would be safe…I would go with a safer clasp..

I wouldn’t use it because if the magnet came loose and the baby got a hold of the pieces then it goes strait into their mouth and they can choke

Anything to easy to get off would be a chocking hazard for a baby. Not suggested.

Magnets won’t harm the baby unless ingested… Some theorize they may help.. although i’d love to see one stand on end when put up next to another baby lol like reverse magnetism ha ha
ok i’m kidding lol

I would skip the jewelry on a newborn.
Newborn & jewelry – doesn’t mix. Spare the child, please.
How about making a nice braclet – as that is a very nice thought – but don’t make the poor thing wear it. It would be a very nice keepsake. And make it big enough that she can wear it when she gets older. She can wear it knowing that you made it for her baptism. But, obviously, she’ll know that she was too small to wear jewelry.

The only jewelry allowed for infants are stud earrings nothing more. There are several reported accidents caused by jewelries on infants. The flesh of infants are so tender that most jelweries that are tied or entwined on their body parts are hazards to their body parts getting ripped off as they get entangled with adult’s jewelries accidentally. magnetic or non magnetic does not make any difference as far as accidents are concerned….that’s why they are called accidents. Best is to avoid them. Prevention is best!!!

It would be ok if she only wore it at her baptisim and was carefully watched. After you could make a shadow box put it in there with her dress. That would be really neat and you wouldnt have to worry about her choking. It would be a beautiful keepsake for the parents and baby.

I would think it would be OK, as long as there was no possibility of the small parts coming apart and therefore being a choking hazard.
I also wouldn’t let an infant wear jewelry unsupervised.
Hope it is a great ceremony!
