I do not sleep with my rigs on. In fact it is not good for your health – for the constant wearing of the rings affects the blood circulation in your fingers.
I always take my engagement and wedding rings off when I am home. Besides, you can keep your rings beautiful longer – some house work can really ruin the metal and stones

Of course. Why wouldn’t it be?

You take the vow and wear the ring all the time based on how you feel and how it would effect your spouse. I was married 6 weeks ago and find myself taking it off for cleaning and othher things and forgetting to put it back on or even taking it off in my sleep, but this seemed to bother my new husband. But I told him this is a public symbol of our love and I would never leave home with out it and he seemed to be ok.

I personally don’t.

I know of some women who do, but I don’t. I feel that by taking it off before bed, I’m preserving it better by not exposing it to the environment as much. Plus, I don’t want to sweat on it or anything or clock my husband in the head with it.

I do not sleep with any jewelry. It all comes off at bed time and all goes back on in the morn. I never thought about the need to sleep with my wedding ring on

I think that depends on whether the woman you are talking about is prone to her hands swelling while she is asleep. I sleep in my rings because my hands dont swell. I do think there are some women who would not take off their wedding ring no matter how much pain it cost them with regard to hand swelling because they are afraid its bad karma or something. I personally believe it just a ring its not the marriage.

I thought everyone slept in their wedding rings.
I only take my engagement ring off to look at it sometimes; when I was married to my ex, I only took my wedding ring off when I was pregnant (because my fingers got so puffy it didn’t fit anymore).
My fiance and I each have engagement rings now; he takes his off when he washes his hands because it’s a little loose, but not otherwise.

yes it is VERY common!!

Yes, it is. In fact, I have never heard of anyone who doesn’t. They may remove it to wash dishes, put on lotion, etc., but to sleep?
My ring stays on unless I am washing my hair (the stone gets tangled into the hair), or putting on lotion. That’s it.
Hope I helped. God bless you.

Most women rarely ever take their wedding rings off, day or night.

Yes very common, I never take mine off.

It’s dumb not to! That’s how rings get lost….

I’m not married yet, but I do have an engagement ring (and I do wear other jewelry)
I never take my engagement ring off. I don’t see how adding one more ring to my finger will change that.
Although, I’ve been very interested to hear why women do take their rings off, and how many actually do.
Good question!

I don’t sleep in mine. I only wear them out of the house and take them and all my other jewelry off, when I come home. It is solely a matter of comfort. Whenever I slept in jewelry it made marks on my skin.
At work once I was in the filing cabinet and it closed, and squished my ring, and I had to get it fixed.
That isn’t why though, I just don’t wear any jewelry around the house. I met plenty of women who dramatically stated “These wedding rings shall never leave my finger!!!” and they did.
Commitment to a marriage vow is not tied up in a hunk of metal.

I have never worn my ring to bed, but my husband refuses to go to sleep without his on.

Only if they can’t get the ring off their finger otherwise why put your finger through the stress.

I always have and always will…been doing it for 25 years

I take my engagement ring off at night. i’m getting married in 3 weeks from today, and i don’t think i’ll remove the wedding ring to sleep, though. But my engagement ring sticks up a bit, and i very often would wake up with the diamond imprint on my cheek. Not a good look. Don’t ask me how it got there though- i must sleep weird.

i keep mine on 24/7, but i take my engagement ring off when i get home. it sits up high in the setting, and gets in the way. your wedding ring, provided it fits you, should ALWAYS be on your finger.

All the women I know sleep in their wedding rings but not their engagement rings.
Engagement rings usually have a higher profile than the wedding band and you don’t want it to scratch your face while you are sleeping, snag on the sheets, etc.

Wow, I am in the minority on this one! I take my ring off when I go to sleep. I don’t really have a reason why, I just do.

I only wear my ring when I leave the house. I never wear it at home. It gets in the way and gets dirty. My husband only wear his outside the home too so we definitely don’t sleep with it on.

Well I usually keep my engagement ring on all the time but sometimes I do take it off when I sleep because my fingers swell at night… It depends on the woman.

When I was married, I never slept with my wedding ring on. And now that I’m engaged, I never sleep with my engagement ring on.

I don’t have a wedding band yet, all I have is my engagement ring. I slept in it for a few months and it was uncomfortable because the stone sticks up so much. I heard something too about your sheets wearing down the prongs on your diamonds. Not sure if that is true or not. But I take mine off at night for comfort reasons. But once I get married my wedding band wont come off. =]
