It is probably bad luck, but more then that it is extremely tacky. If I got divorced and saw my ex-husbands new wife with my rings on I would for one laugh my butt off and tell everyone I knew, and be disgusted.
You can take them to a jeweler and trade them on a new set.

not too sure about it being “bad luck” but it most definitely is TACKY!
The only hand me down ring you should ever accept from a partner is his mother’s or grandmother’s rings…never ever any piece of jewelry that his ex once wore, my ex husband actually demanded in court that he get the ring, I actually bought my own wedding ring, he wanted it so he could give it to his new girlfriend…the judge told him NO
take that off and hand it to him and tell him you refuse to wear her rings…those are a representation of their relationship and marriage…you want your own and if he refuses to take care of it himself…sell those rings and go pick out your own ring
reevaluate why he would do such a thing? I find it very insensitive

That is what Mariah Carey is doing. (Nick Cannon was engaged to Selita the VS Model with the same ring he gave Mariah Carey) I guess you have to really look at the feelings behind it. Truth is, he loved before you. Sucks, but that is life. You may be able to stay anchored in reality instead of fantasy. Many of us make that mistake and then when real life happens, we are disappointed and unprepared. This may be something that keeps you anchored and strong. Peace.

Go ahead and use them. To all of the other wise answers..what if he cannot afford new rings!
There is no such thing as bad luck.
I know I checked in the Bible.
Take the rings to a jewelry and have them changed a bit.
Or go to a pawn shop and trade them in for someone else old rings that they use for their old marriage.

That’s just creepy. I would flatly refuse to wear them…actually, I wouldn’t have accepted them in the first place. To be honest, I actually find it creepy when men propose using their mother or grandmothers ring (i have a friend who was in this situation).

You can be sneaky and hock it and buy a new one under the guies that the new one fits better.
What’s next, will he have you wearing her old clothes and her underwear?

What? I would have taken that ring and threw it into the ocean in front of him. No way in hell will I allow my husband to give me his ex-wife’s ring. Bull! He needs to get you your own ring. What a cheapo I swear.

I don’t know if it’s bad luck, but I do know that that’s really cheap. You should absolutely get your own ring. I understand that he may want to save money but this is something special.

I wouldn’t wear it. It’s suppose to symbolize your love, not failing of an ex-relationship. Sell it and use the money for a new one.

Oh that is tacky. He needs to invest in a ‘special’ ring just for you.
