Could be. Pure gold (24K) is quite soft, so gold is alloyed with other metals to make it wear better. You can plate 14K gold over other things. I would weigh it figure it’s density to see if it is consistent with 14K.

When you actually say 24k gold, it means that it is totally pure. However when you say 22k gold, it means that 22 parts out of 24 are pure and the other two parts are either of copper, silver or anything else. These impure parts are used to make the gold more malleable and ductile.
14k Gold “plating” can be real but it is highly impure as i metioned.

it is unlikely as the lower the “K” of the gold, the softer it is. a 17k gold is already very soft and easily bendable. a 14k gold would be unlikely…
