The Engagement Ring is the start of Life together with your Mate, comes first and is put on First. Then Comes the Wedding Band, that Binds and Solidifies the Union of the Marriage for the Bride. the band is first then the engagement ring. that is why you take off the engagement ring for the ceremony to replace it with the band (the neverending circle) then put the engagement ring on afterwards.

Band is closest to your heart. Makes no sense to me because the band has to be removed after the ceremony and moved in front of the Engagement ring
