For Anti-Virus Software, Windows will tell you.

Go to your Security Center (Start => Control Panel => Security Options) where the system will show you Firewall, Automatic Updates and Anti-Virus. If it’s green, you’re okay, yellow and you’ve told it you’ve got one you’re monitoring yourself or red and you need to install one.

Or you could just ask your husband if he’s installed anything!

    Hi,
please don’t install Pandora, just use “AVG” as your anti-virus Link and this also comes with free Updates as well, and has never caused me any problems. this will help you.

Well one way to check is to go to Add or Remove Programs from your start menu and it should list all your installed programs and utilities. If this doesn’t help then from your start menu mouse over to all programs and it should list it there. Your third option will require you to access your file system. From your start menu click my computer, then C:\local disk then program files, and a list of folders will appear containing your computers programs. There should be references to either security or anti-spyware, or one title some software manufactures will use is simply spyware or spybot or something of that sort. Now if that doesn’t work for you then it will require you to go into your registry. I would caution anyone going into this because it contains the root commands that control the entire behavior of your computer. If I were a computer novice and don’t feel comfortable doing this then I would take it into a computer technician and he or she will look into your registry for spyware program entries. If the technician finds them then they will know what to do with them and will clean out your registry of all traces of these type of programs. Like I said don’t do anything in your registry unless you are comfortable and know what you are doing or you risk a complete reformat of your hard drive, and if this happens then you will lose everything.

Take the advice of the first answer and also, carry out an Anti-Spyware and an Anti-virus scan
