You are better to buy from a good quality online jewelry store that offers returns, Department stores generally don’t have the higher quality. They might be lower priced but not equal in value. Value is the relationship of quality to price.
For example in pearl jewelry something like a freshwater pearl necklace, shape is very important, a department store will have the lower price, than an online pearl jewelry store’s higher quality perfectly round freshwater pearl necklace, but the department store’s pearl necklace will have non-round pearls.Definitely choose a good quality online store, they can afford to sell higher quality, because they don’t have the huge overhead that a department store has.
