The traditional way is for the wedding band to go on first – closer to the heart. The engagement ring goes on the outside. People then often wonder what to do during the ceremony. You can wear the engagement ring on your right hand during the ceremony, or have someone hold it. After the ceremony, the engagement ring can go on.

The wedding band is supposed to go on first, so that it is worn closer to the heart. If you decide to do this, before the ceremony, switch your engagement ring over to your right hand, so that you hubby to be can simply put the wedding band on your finger during the ceremony. Afterward, you can easily move the engagment ring back to your left hand, and then your set…forever!

Usually the band goes towards the heart and the engagement ring it on the outside. It goes on the right hand during the wedding day. Sometimes it’s just a personal preference.
