I’ve got a magnetic pillow pad that I bought to help with my insomnia. The claim was that the increased oxygen to the face and brain would help you fall asleep and stay in a state of deep sleep longer. I bought a top of the line one (www.detoxyourworld.com) and I’ve got mixed feelings about it. Although I am falling asleep faster, I’ve been having crazy dreams since I started using it! I tend to wake up twice a night now from these weird dreams. So I don’t know if I like it or not- I feel more rested in the morning, but I’m not 100% convinced it’s perfect.
My partner also has a top of the line magnetic bracelet, set in titanium. He tends to get an achey back from sitting at a computer for most of his day, so I bought it for him to try and help. Although his back still aches sometimes, he doesn’t “crack” it as much as he used to (you know, like when you turn to the side and you hear a cracking noise?)
So we’ve both got mixed feelings on magnetic therapy, but I wouldn’t rule it out as a good alternative. Hope that helps!

Perhaps you should also research if sleeping on a “memory foam” mattress actually improves memory.

Thoughts on their effectiveness? Yes! It just depends what you call “effective” and what you aim at.
If you aim at relieving symptoms only (pain mainly), and are not bothered about the cause of the problem, magnetic stuff is very good and the pain will probably vanish.
If you are careful of your health, i.e. if you want to put out the fire and not just make the smoke go away so you can pretend there is no fire, you will NOT use magnet therapy. It’s in fact the worst thing you can do.
Magnets have a powerful effect on tissues and blood (blood red cells carry iron around the cells and these get easily magnetized). The result is often a suppression of symptoms, primarily of pain symptoms. The pain goes away. The problem SEEMS to have vanished. I feel so good … for a while …
However, the cause of the problem has not vanished and continues to damage your body. So, if you want to deal with the cause and eliminate it rather than just symptoms, you will avoid magnet therapy.
Moreover, magnets destroy the balance of meridian energy and in the long run all your organs will suffer.
I believe magnet therapy is excellent if you already know the cause of your pain – rheumathic pains, cancer, etc. – and the alternative would be pain killers or morphine.
Otherwise, keep far away!
The best of health to you!
