I think that it’s kind of weird to keep a ring from a previous marriage. I usually burn all of the stuff that is associated with my ex, or sell the valuable stuff that they leave behind. If you want to get close to it’s value never pawn it, sell it in the paper you will get a lot more probably. I personally cut my ring with wire cutters, and mailed it to my ex wife when she had me served. It was worth $300 or so, but I was so hurt that the money didn’t matter-I wanted to make a statement. Kind of a metaphor for her “broken” promise. It felt really good to show her that it wasn’t about the money, it was all about broken promises. I think she got the message, all $300 bucks worth.

I still have mines. And the high school ring (yeah high school sweetheart), anyways I still have them I guess cause I respect what we had. I might be too sentimental, because we even got matching tattoo’s (a mistake) but it’s the emotion, the growth, and the remembrance that I’m never going back that still has a place with me… that and that I’m too freaking sentimental.

I lost my wedding band. Never got an engagement ring.
I have his wedding band. I do not intend to do anything with it except keep it as a memento. I have a significantother now and we might as well be married, but I’m not getting rid of my ex husbands ring.

I kept mine. It’s in the lock box at the bank. I thought my daughter may want it someday…something that was from when her mom and dad were together. If she doesn’t want it…she can pawn it or do whatever with it. I don’t really care.

I still have mine and I’m remarried. I have no use for my old rings. I plan to hock them but haven’t gotten around to it yet. I doubt they are worth much any way.

I think the key word here is “pawn”, which means for money. I kept my wedding rings in case my children want to use them when they get married.

It is not wrong, but you could always make something else out of them. You could pawn them and get a ring that you like more.

It is not wrong to keep them but I did not want mine. I sold it to my girlfriends mother.
