i think there is no need to spend your money on a piece of jewelry unless the cost of a diamond is just pocket change to you.you don’t need an expensive ring and your money would be better spent on something else.Cubic zirconia engagement rings is the best choice for you if you want to save budget. She may not like a CZ. And for everyone out there who thinks that would make her a gold digger or some other horrible name, that’s not the point at all.
To some people, it doesn’t matter. That’s great for them. But if it does matter to her, that should be respected, because she may be looking at it symbolically, not fiancially. I know that I would not want a CZ because I do not want an imitation gemstone to represent a natural love. It has nothing to do with the cost.
My fiance got me a sapphire with small accent diamonds, and it cost less than $200.00. Some CZ rings cost far more than that. So it definitely is not always an issue of cost.
One good argument for CZs, though, is that when you get a CZ you can be sure you’re not buying a blood diamond. Even the most careful diamond distributors and jewelry shops cannot be 100-percent certain that the diamonds they sell are not blood diamonds.
It definitely sounds like you are expecting her to object to a CZ, or you would not be looking for arguments in support of them. Instead, why not ask her how she feels about a gemstone ring…either your birthstone, her birthstone, or a color that has a special symbollic meaning to the two of you.
It is true that diamonds are overpriced. They are no more rare than sapphires, emeralds, or rubies, but they cost more. This is because of the demand created by De Beers marketing.
But if she won’t like a CZ, you can still find something natural and inexpensive that the WILL like.

    I must advise you,
9 out of 10 girls will not accept a CZ. If budget is an issue, like it can be for many people, look for another gem stone that is considered a precious or semi-precious stone instead of a diamond. If a white appearance is disired, consider a white saphire. They are better than CZ’s!
There is a certain stigma that goes along with a CZ and it is most certainly not a good choice for your wedding ring.
    Hope that helps.

The advantage to cubic zirconia is it is a fraction of the cost of a diamond. It is comprised of a different material that is less hard than a diamond.
Here is a link that will give you just about anything you wanted to know about diamonds, cultured diamond and CZ’s, hope it helps!!http://www.somacon.com/p136.php

Honestly, I have a CZ as my center stone. They’re a ton cheaper than diamonds.
I have a broken prong on my ring and I took it to a name-brand jewelry store to ask if they could fix it.
Dude takes it and puts it under his fancy scope thing and gives me a price quote..maybe $60. He wrote up the order, and as I was leaving, I said, “you do know that’s a CZ, don’t you?” and he’s like “we can’t help you then.” and he gave it right back to me.
When I first got the ring, I kept hearing an old commerical about a “counterfeit diamond ring” where they said
“An expert can tell the difference, but practically nobody else can.” Story above illustrates that sometimes the so-called “experts” can’t, either.
Make sure though, that your fiance knows and is ok with the CZ. Many times, I’ve had it cleaned or the prongs checked and they do verbally notice that it is a CZ. The other thing is that if she ever needs the ring fixed, if the repair person treats it like a diamond, it will shatter.

You’re being cheap. CZs aren’t real- the are fake, man made diamond looking plastic like stones. You can buy them at ridiculously cheap prices.
If money is problem- consider a colored stone. Like her birthstone or favorite color.
My ring’s center stone is an amethyst (our birthstone) with two small diamonds on either side. He didn’t tell me how much it cost (I didn’t ask) but I know colored stones tend to run less expensive than diamonds and many times, are much prettier. Just don’t get her a CZ- it’s like telling her she isn’t worth investing sacrifice in.

My husband bought my wedding band set at Walmart. Cost around $200. It is a real diamond. It may not be the best of quality, but it is beautiful. I have received lots of compliments on it. Cubic zirconium is pretty, but if your girl wants a real diamond then I suggest going somewhere like Walmart or Kohls and getting her a set at a low cost. Walmart.com has really beautiful lines at very low cost.

I saw a cute 1/2 ct diamond bridal set on sale ($399.99) at http://www.gordons.com. I got a 1 1/2 ct diamond at http://www.zales.com for $800 plus $100 for the insurance. Zales and Gordon’s Jewelers are sister companies. Right now they have some nice diamond bridal sets on clearance with an additional 30% off. I absolutely love mine! I had been watchingit for a while it was regularly priced at $3100.00.

Diamonique is the next best things. No one would ever know it’s not real diamond. I would go for this instead of CZ.
