I’m not the super adornment dowse but the white-gold and platinum warrant similar. It doesn’t warrant aforementioned they would relation the whole yellow-gold and platinum would. However, I would aforementioned to edifice from you experts conceive there. Thanks!

The main difference between white gold and platinum is the work involved with the white gold in the long run. There is no such thing as real white gold, it is yellow gold that is mixed with silver and is rhodium plated. When the rodium plating wears off, the white gold will turn yellow over time. You’ll need to always re-plate the white gold ring (unless you’re okay with it being yellow).
Your other options is to get a “gray gold” (which looks exactly the same as white gold/platinum). This is mixed with palladium (which is in the platinum family). This will not change over time. However, these are much more expensive than a normal white gold ring and not many people make jewelry out of this material.
In the end, it is what you like. I have three different rings that I wear for whatever color I’m in the mood for. I can mix and match, or just go with one ring at a time. It is your ring, do what you want and what feels right.

The only person who can answer this question is the one who is going to wear the rings. If they are happy with the rings, be they platinum or paper, then it is no one else’s business.

They may look very similar in the lighting of the store but, in natural light there will be a noticeable difference.
It would be a pity to spoil the effect of the rings by having an obviously unmatched pair.
Personally I would not chose to mix the metals in that way.
Mixed metals on the one ring are acceptable as you will have noticed looking at rings.
An answer could be as simple as this.To keep with to the rings you have chosen.
Have the jeweller add a very thin band of white gold to encircle the outside of the platinum band.
The cost should not be too much extra,as you are aware white gold is less expensive than platinum. It would definately not make it fussy, and datable like some over the top ring designs do.
It is very acceptable to combine gold and white gold in this way.Or gold and silver. So why not white gold on platinum.
It would look very elegant with the engagement ring. Very appropriate for a mans wedding ring as well.
I’ve just compared pieces of my jewellery outside in the natural light. Its daytime here in Australia as I write this.
Platinum is a much sharper shine than white gold.
Congrats. and Best of Luck with selecting the right rings.

The only problem I foresee, is that while brand new they may look the same, the white gold may wear off.
White gold isn’t solid – it’s a layer over regular gold – so after time & wear, it will begin to show through gold. You can have them reapply the white gold to maintain the look – but I’d be wary to do platinum & white gold if they’re going to be next to each other.

Yes. My engagement ring is platinum and my wedding band is white gold. Only a jeweler can tell them apart.

I am not sure who the rings are for. Are they both for you, or is your ring different than her ring? If they are to go on the same finger it may look a little odd; however if they are to be on different hands then there is no problem.

A girl I used to work with has a white-gold engagement ring with a platinum wedding band and I never would have known it if she had never told me. Unless you were to point it out to someone, no one would ever know.

Well i am no expert but I do know that my sister in law has a platinum engagement ring and white gold wedding band. They look the same, in terms of color so there is nothing wrong with that. I think a lot of people do that.

It’s not wrong to get it that way, but it may look weird. Why not just get a white gold band? Or design a ring in platinum that looks the way you would like it to look and then get the platinum band?

Platinum and white gold do have some differences in color and texture – since the pieces will be right next to each other you might notice the differences. If they don’t bother YOU, though, then don’t worry about it.
