    In jewelry, the concern I’ve heard about would be if the tungsten carbide uses a cobalt binder, which could be leached out with skin oils. It might irritate the skin or stain the jewelry. Newer pieces of jewelry will use a Nickel binder. Haven’t heard of a cancer risk.

    I only know of that material as being used in metal cutting tools, not jewelry. Tungsten carbide is brittle too. I don’t think it would do well as a ring.
