its is probably excess water gain. You might try to lower your salt intake some. How old is the baby, you might loose some of the swelling depending on how old the baby is and if you loose all your baby weight. Start on a slow exercises program if your Dr says t is okay.

It depends on when you gave birth. For me when I was pregnant with my daughter I gained 55+ pounds. My wedding ring did not fit me after 5 months pregnant. But it only took a few weeks after my daughter was born before I could wear my ring. It may just be etra fluid weight. When your pregnant you amass a lot of extra blood and water to satisfy your babies needs. Just exercise eat right and if you’re breastfeeding you’ll lose weight really fast.

At my child birth education class, they suggested taking them off before they got too tight (from swelling). The nurse said she has had to cut off many a wedding ring in her day. :) She suggested (until you have the baby and lose weight) putting it on a nice chain and wearing it around your neck.
